Tough welds for dirty, windy places.
Stick (SMAW) and flux-core (FCAW) welding for thick steel, rusty or painted metal, outdoor work and field repairs where other processes struggle.
- Strength: Deep penetration on thick steel
- Outdoors: Tolerates wind and dirt
- Metals: Mild and many alloy steels

What it is, and why it matters.
Stick and flux-core welding tolerate wind, rust, paint and dirt better than gas-shielded processes, which is why they dominate field repair, construction and farm work. They penetrate well, handle thick steel and keep running when conditions are far from clean.
We choose electrodes and wire for the steel, the position and the strength required, preheat when thickness or alloy calls for it and clean slag between passes. They are not as pretty as TIG, but for structural, equipment and outdoor jobs they get the work done right.
Four things done right.
Works where others cannot
Wind, rust and paint are manageable.
Deep penetration
Strong joints on thick plate.
Right rod or wire
Matched to steel and position.
Cleaned between passes
Slag removed for sound welds.

Stick & Flux-Core Welding: common questions
Why use stick instead of MIG outside?
Wind blows away the shielding gas that MIG needs, while stick and self-shielded flux-core carry their own protection, so they hold up much better outdoors.
Is flux-core as good as MIG?
Flux-core penetrates deeper and tolerates wind and dirt, though it makes more spatter and slag. For thick steel and field work it is often the better choice.
